Trust us, we get it, you’re itching to get out. But as we begin to test the waters, or rather, poke our heads out the door, staying safe and healthy is of the utmost importance. With car travel quickly becoming a preferred mode of transportation during the pandemic, here is a simple guideline to ensure you travel safely when hailing an Uber:

1. Wear a face mask

Face masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19 – as simple as that. And with Uber maintaining a “No Mask, No Ride” policy it goes without saying that covering your mouth and nose is mandatory. In addition, riders have grounds to cancel a trip if their Uber driver isn’t wearing a mask.

2. Wash your hands, than wash again

Wash your hands with liquid soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol to disinfect your hands. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

3. Keep your distance

Sit in the back seat to maintain distance and open window if possible in order to increase ventilation.

Finally, stay home if you can. And stay safe!
