Alhambra de Granada

Located in the southern Spanish city of Granada, Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex built by the Islamic rulers of what was then the Emirate of Granada. This complex includes a mosque and hammams (public baths) and remains one of the best-preserved palaces of the historic Islamic world, offering a window into the North African influences of Spain. Sagrada Familia

Your trip to Spain shouldn’t go without visiting Toledo in Castilla La Mancha. There are plenty of great things to see and do in Toledo, and here are our favorites.

El Alcazar

The old fortress was built during Roman times and rebuilt later. It’s located on the highest point of the city and overlooks it. Today, the building is the home to a Military Museum where you can see the history of the Spanish army.

Mezquita Cristo de la Luz

The Mezquita Cristo de la Luz was built in 999. The mosque is square-shaped and still mostly in the original shape. This is the place where wealthy Muslim families from the town used to live before Christians took over in 1085.

El Greco Museum

Famous Renaissance artist El Greco was originally Greek but spent most of his life living in Toledo. The museum devoted to his works opened in 1911. Besides El Greco paintings, the museum also holds works by other Spanish artists from the 17th century, together with some furniture and ceramics.
