]]> As soon as winter hits, it’s time to go skiing! There are a lot of excellent ski hills around the world, but Whistler, Canada is known as one of the best. After all, the 2010 Winter Olympics were held here. You might be wondering where you should rest your head after a long day on the slopes, and the Fairmont Château Whistler does not disappoint. Here’s what to expect.

Each guest room has been carefully decorated in muted earth tones, and filled with plush pillows. The view outside each window is that of Whistler Mountain and the slopes of Blackcomb. When you wake-up you can get ready to ski immediately, and when you go to sleep you can look at where you will ski the next day. Prices start at $425 a night.

With the mountain literally at your doorstep, you might not think you need any amenities, but you definitely do. The Vida Spa offers a variety of treatments to ease your sore muscles, and some excellent facials if you want to destress. There are five on-site restaurants, and one that features a very unique dining experience. You can choose to have a meal in a heated snow globe, and dine amongst the trees in your personal bubble.

This will be a holiday you don’t soon forget!

]]> North America is home to some of the world’s greatest theme parks, but you don’t need to head to Orlando to catch big thrills. Here are some of the biggest and best theme parks in Canada, along with our ratings of the park.

Canada’s Wonderland: 5/5

Canada’s Wonderland is a hugely impressive theme park, and it’s only a short drive from Toronto. Any park that has more roller coasters than you can count on your hand is worth paying attention to if you love big thrills. Yukon Striker is also quite possibly one of the greatest coasters in the Americas right now.

La Ronde: 3/5

La Ronde is a charming theme park on the Montreal island. It doesn’t have any groundbreaking coasters, but you get exceptional views of the river on the mega coaster, Goliath.

Calaway Park: 2/5

Calaway Park is the biggest theme park in Western Canada. It is located in Alberta and although it is great fun for kids, there aren’t any spectacular rides for thrillseekers.

Galaxyland: 3.5/5

Galaxyland is a special theme park because it is located inside a mall. There are some pretty exciting coasters and rides, which you can jump on even when it is snowing outside. The renowned West Edmonton Mall is located in Alberta.

Whistler: 5/5

During the snowy season, Whistler itself is North America’s greatest theme park. From tobogganing to snowboarding, you can try out all sorts of extreme snow sports and activities. The feeling of skiing down a mountain just can’t be beaten.
