The Capital of Georgia is Breaking Tourism Records

During 2019, Tbilisi, the capital of European country Georgia, was visited by the highest number of tourists ever. This is the second year in a row that Tbilisi has broken the records for the number of visitors. In 2018, it hosted over 3.6 million guests, and that number grew by 15.7% in the first three quarters of 2019.

Who are the tourists who come to Tbilisi? They’re mostly from Europe, specifically Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, and England. They’re people who want to explore new places on city breaks, and Tbilisi has plenty of things to offer.

The city has celebrated this achievement with a light spectacle for the New Year, which cost over 4 million euros. This attracted more tourists to come celebrate the New Year in Georgia’s capital, which leads to a crowded and festive atmosphere in the city.
