The Faroe Islands are a self-governing Danish territory that has just over 50,000 residents and provides some of the most pristine and beautiful natural territory on the face of the Earth.

Nature reign as king in the Faroe Islands, with the rocky volcanic archipelago containing a number of dramatic sights that visitors will never forget.

Waterfalls are one of the main sights of the Faroe Islands, and the Mulafossur Waterfall is one of the most beautiful. It’s accessible via a 3.5-kilometer hike and features a cascade of water that falls directly into the ocean.

Craggy rocks are a big highlight of the archipelago due to volcanic activity. Sea cliffs are common, and the most unique one is Sørvágsvatn. Here, a lake is perched on top of dramatic ocean cliffs that power over the sea. Wow!

Finally, bird lovers will also delight in a trip to the Faroe Islands. Puffins are commonly seen here, especially on the island of Mykines, which is uninhabited. Fortunately, you can get here by boat and see the natural spectacle of crowds of these cute birds flying high.

The Faroe Islands are truly one of the most unique destinations on Earth. If you have the chance to go as a nature lover, don’t pass it up!
