The Mistery Of The Dead Sea

Did you know that there is a sea in which you can’t sink and where animals nor plants can’t live in? This mysterious natural phenomenon really does exist, and it is called the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea is actually a salt lake and it is bordering Jordan to the East and Israel to the West. With its 430.5 meters (1412 feet) below the sea level, the Dead Sea, also known as the Salt Sea, represents the lowest point on Earth. It is a beautiful, mysterious looking lake with light turquoise water and salt crystals peeking out of it.

The Dead Sea has a high salt concentration, 33 percent, so most of the organisms can’t grow nor live in it. However, the most interesting thing about this lake is that because of the high salt content, people can’t swim in it, they can only float, very easily, without sinking. This experience is a calming experience which will relieve you of stress and relax your whole body.

You shouldn’t soak your head into the water nor should you enter the water if you have any open cut injuries. However, it is still a very popular tourist location because of its health benefits. There are beaches for nutritious mud treatments and salt baths that are full of minerals.
