The Unexpected Benefits of Solo Travel

Traveling alone isn’t for everybody. Some people just feel safer, happier, and more entertained when they’re in the company of fellow travelers. But it’s still something well worth considering, having many benefits both obvious and less obvious. Here are just some of the advantages you can expect to see while traveling solo that you might not have thought about.

A Better Use of Your Time

The truth is that traveling with other people involves wasting lots of time. From long, indecisive conversations about where to eat, to waiting for somebody else’s bathroom break, to seeing things you wouldn’t necessarily want to see on your own, there are many things that you don’t have to waste time on when you travel by yourself.

It Can Actually Be Quite Social

Surprisingly, solo travel isn’t actually as lonely as most people expect. If you want to meet other people while traveling, you easily can by (safely) meeting people from online or starting conversations with people in hostels or other traveler-friendly places.

You’ll Be Healthier

Most people can’t be bothered to make healthy choices while traveling, choosing to eat fast food and take taxis everywhere because of the convenience factor. But if you want to go out of your way to walk from place to place and find a healthy salad restaurant, nobody can stop you when you travel alone.
