These are the 3 Best Pizza Places in the World

If there’s one food we will never get enough of, it’s pizza. Over 5 billion pizzas are sold worldwide each year, and even though a slice a day keeps the sadness away, some pies are a bit better than others. The folks at Big 7 Travel have released their annual list of best pizza places around the world, and our passports are already calling.

3. Peppe Pizzeria — Paris, France

Imagine Italian pizza, but with a French twist. The Parisian establishment is run by Peppe Cutraro who trained in the Spanish Quarters in Naples. The restaurant could not have chosen a worse time to open its doors (January 2020), but in spite of a global pandemic, it has still won awards. There are a limited number of pizzas on the menu, but they include exceptional ingredients like truffles from Molise, cured pork cheeks, and local Parisian mushrooms.

2. Ken’s Artisan Pizza — Portland, United States

Portland is one of the trendiest places in America, so naturally good artisanal pizza is a thing. The pizzas at Ken’s include “long fermented dough, hand-stretched mozzarella, and Italian tomatoes, baked with a blistered crust.” Toppings range from seasonal items like fennel and leek, to braised oxtail.

1. 10 by Diego Vitagliano — Naples, Italy

Naturally, first place goes to a restaurant in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. Although the city is filled with pizzerias, according to Big 7 Travel, 10 by Diego Vitagliano offers something exceptional. “Vitagliano injects real culinary creativity into his more contemporary iterations, with pizzas like the Pistadella, made with Fiore di latte di agerola, mortadella, and Sicilian pistachio pesto.” That’s authenticity at its finest.
