Travelers usually take week-long trips to Romania, even though it’s not enough to explore the land of the most popular vampire in history, Dracula! Here we have a short list of things to visit on your trip to Romania.

Bucharest

Like any capital in the world, Bucharest is the first thing that comes to mind as you arrive in Romania. The capital is known as the home of the biggest Parliament building in the world. The location at the parliament is often used for concerts during the year. One of the popular locations to visit is the Old Town area, often called the “Paris of The East.” The Old Town is full of coffee shops and historic sites such as the Zlatari and Selari churches.

Dracula’s Bran Castle

The Bran Castle is the most popular and the most visited place in Romania. The old medieval castle was built back in 1212 on a perfect strategic position, deep in the mountainous valley, where merchants had traveled for centuries before the castle was burned down by the Mongols. It was again rebuilt in 1377 and provided Vlad Tepes with a great place to live.

Lake Snagov

Located about 20 miles north of Bucharest, Lake Snagov is mostly known as the resting place of Count Dracula. His remains are located in the isolated church in the middle of the lake itself.
