If you’re planning a trip to Paris, you probably have a huge tourist attraction on your itinerary—visit the Louvre. The Louvre is actually the world’s most visited museum, so we totally understand why you want to go! Of course, while you’re there you’ll have to wait in line to see the Mona Lisa, but most people don’t realize how much more there is to the Louvre to see. Here are 3 things you must see there (other than the Mona Lisa, of course).

The Napoleon III Apartments

Unlike the Mona Lisa, this portion of the Louvre probably won’t be packed with tourists, although we don’t understand why! This wing exhibits the original architecture and design of the living quarters from the time of Napoleon III. If you think you’ve seen extravagance, wait until you step into one of these rooms. It’s unbelievably stunning!

Galerie d’Apollon

Wow. This wing is another level of extravagance…yes, even in comparison to the Napoleon III apartments! This portion of the museum shows off the stunningly decorated ceilings that you could easily stare at for hours. Additionally, you can see displays of the French Crown Jewels. This includes crowns with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and so much more!
