Bali, Indonesia, is a very popular place to visit for many different groups of tourists, from romantic couples to solo travelers to friendship groups. However, Bali does come with rules and restrictions that many people are not aware of. We are here to help you make sure make the best of your trip.

Unmarried Couples

It is important to be aware of the laws that just passed in Bali making it illegal for couples who are not married to share a bedroom—you could face jail time, and that is probably the last thing you want. So, if you are traveling with a partner it is important to be aware of this newly-passed law.

Respect the Religious Customs

Since religion is the base and root of the country, it’s important to plan accordingly. If you are visiting the city when there is a holiday or a ceremony taking place it is important to cover up. Additionally, if you are planning on visiting holy temples and sites, you need to cover your shoulders and knees. Make sure you pack accordingly before you jet off across the world.

Be Cautious of Where you Eat

Have you heard of the term ‘Bali belly’? A few years ago it was recommended to stay away from salads, fruits, most meat, and ice. Nowadays the hygiene standards in the country have improved but we still recommend being cautious of where and what you are eating as there are still some risks. The last thing you need is to spend your vacation running to find a toilet.
