Visiting Norway is always a great idea. This Scandinavian country will amaze you with its scenic landscapes, impressive architecture, opportunities for winter activities, and much more. However, before you go there, there are some things you should know.

Almost Everyone Speaks English

Unlike in some other countries, the language barrier won’t be an issue for you in Norway. It is estimated that 90 percent of the population speaks English as a second language, so almost everyone will be able to understand you.

Be Prepared for Cold Weather

Nominally, Norway has winter, spring, summer, and fall. However, don’t expect the seasons to behave according to their name. The weather quickly changes, and it can get quite cold there, even on a sunny day. So make sure to pack warm clothes.

There is No Entrance Fee for National Parks

Norway has 47 national parks, and you will be able to explore them for free since there is no entrance fee charged. This applies to most other country’s outdoor attractions. However, remember that the rules regarding what you can and can’t do are quite strict.

Forget About Cash

Norway is a country where you’ll rarely need cash. Almost any type of service or product can be paid for using a credit card. You might want to have a few bills in your pocket just in case, but it is usually for the best if you don’t bother exchanging money for local currency.
