When you travel, you usually spend a lot of time outside, going on walks, getting around, and seeing the sights. This is great when the weather is nice, but can be much more challenging in rainy conditions. But does that mean you should avoid traveling during rainy seasons or spend the whole day in your hotel if there is unexpected rain? Of course not. Just follow these tips instead.

Always Bring an Umbrella and Light Rain Jacket

Even if the forecast says it’ll be sunny, even if it’s summer, and even if you don’t think it’s going to rain, we recommend always packing an umbrella and a lightweight rain jacket to bring with you abroad. That way, you never get caught in the rain and get soaked.

Check the Forecast

In many popular travel destinations, there can be one rainy day in the middle of a sunny week, or one rainy hour in the middle of a sunny day. Always check the forecasts and do your best to plan your indoor activities, like museums, on the days that it’s supposed to be raining, so you can spend dry days outside.

Don’t Be Afraid of a Little Water

If you do end up caught in the rain, don’t let it ruin your day. It’s just water, after all. As long as you’re dressed appropriately, you can totally still go outside when it’s raining.
