Tiger Island
Tiger Island AKA Isla el Tigre doesn’t have a history of recorded activity, but it doesn’t make it any less exciting. This conical volcano is a part of the Central America Volcanic Arc, and it became one of Honduras’s most popular islands thanks to its sun-kissed beaches and crystal-clear waters.
Utila Island
Utila Island’s white sand beaches will make you forget all about Tiger Island, but the similarities between the two don’t end there. Utila is another island of volcanic origin, and its eastern side is capped by a thin veneer of basaltic volcanic rocks. Fans of water sports should put it on their bucket list because it’s one of the world’s best diving locations.
Zacate Grande Island
Zacate Grande isn’t as popular with tourists as the previous two islands, but it’s one of the best attractions of volcanic origin in the entire country. It consists of seven satellite cones, located in the Gulf of Fonseca.
