There is no denying that the United States has the best theme parks in the world. However, that doesn’t mean theme parks in Europe are not worth checking out. The continent has plenty to offer to theme park enthusiasts, including some that are worth taking the trip from anywhere in the world.
De Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands
De Efteling is one of the world’s oldest theme parks. It focuses on themes of fairy tales, fantasy, and nature, and it consists of five different areas, known as realms. It has 62 rides and attractions, including eight roller coasters, which are renowned for their unique themes and design.
Europa-Park in Rust, Germany
If you enjoy rollercoaster rides, make your way to Europa-Park as soon as possible. Covering 235 acres, Europa-Park has more than 100 different rides and attractions including 14 rollercoasters. There are 20 different areas with each following a unique theme. Europa-Park was voted the world’s best theme park nine times in the last 10 years.
Disneyland in Paris, France
Disneyland in Paris, France, is Europe’s most visited theme park. While it has a similar layout and shares plenty of rides with Disney World in Orlando, Florida, it is also cheaper and the hotels are considered more luxurious. Additionally, the castles in Disneyland are believed to be more exciting and better-designed while you’ll be able to find plenty of unique attractions like Alice’s Curious Labyrinth and rides like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril and Ratatouille: The Adventure Ride.
