If you travel a lot, then delayed or canceled flights are bound to happen to you at some point. That is just the nature of traveling by air. But there are some things that you can do to keep this an anomaly rather than a frequent occurrence.

Here are the top tips for avoiding delayed or canceled flights.

Pick a Flight Without Connections

The more planes you have to board, the bigger chance is that one won’t get off the ground in time. Always make sure to choose a direct flight if there is such an option, even if that means paying a little extra or adapting your plans.

 Fly Early

The best time to fly is early in the morning. This is when everything is still in sync, the staff is rested, and there are fewer chances of something going terribly wrong. Later in the day, things can get hectic and cause planes to stop.

Choose a Dependable Airline

If you have your choice between airlines, go with the one that has a track record of getting their planes from point A to point B. Most of the time, the airlines that had problems with delays and canceled flights in the past will have these problems in the future as well.

Fly Mid-Week

Airports are crowded during the weekends, and there are more flights, which increases the chances of something going wrong and lowers the chances of that something being fixed in time. It’s a different story during the weekdays when things are much calmer.
