Many new parents worry that having a baby means the end of their life of travel. However, it doesn’t have to! Traveling with a baby is definitely doable, as long as you are flexible, well-prepared, and up for a challenge. Here are a few top tips for taking a vacation with your little one.

Start Small

While you might be itching for a month in Thailand or trek in Peru, it’s time to scale back. Start small with a road trip for a few days, a stay with a friend, or a short city break. This way, you can do a test run and see how your baby gets on with schedule changes and figure out which essentials you accidentally left behind. After all, practice makes perfect!

Always Allow Extra Time

All parents will know that having a kid means that once-simple tasks now take forever! The same applies to catching flights, making it to reservations on time, or doing activities. Always leave plenty of time to ensure your travel with your baby is as stress-free as can be.

Say Goodbye to Traveling Light

When you are someone who’s always prided themselves on traveling light, admitting that this time, you really have to get luggage in the hold can be painful. But, you’ll be grateful that you brought those extra diapers, travel crib, travel stroller, books, snacks, and blankets when you need them!
