Like most other African countries, Uganda is worth a visit for its natural beauty alone. If you have a soft spot for waterfalls, this country won’t leave you disappointed because it’s home to quite a few, and these three deserve a spot on your bucket list.

Murchison Falls

If you only have enough time to visit a single waterfall while in Uganda, Murchison should make the cut. Located in the very heart of a national park that was named after it, between Lake Kyoga and Lake Albert, Murchison will attract you with both its natural beauty and many stories about famous historical figures who had an adventure of a lifetime on its shores.

Itanda Falls

Itanda Falls consists of a series of rapids on the White Nile River, and it’s one of Uganda’s top spots for adrenaline seekers. It’s especially popular with kayakers, due to its high level of difficulty, but you can also try white water rafting, river surfing, and bungee jumping while here.

Sipi Falls

Located near the Kenyan border, on the slopes of Mount Elgon, Sipi Falls consists of three breathtaking cascading waterfalls. They range from 65 to 100 meters in height, and the last waterfall cascades to a scenic plunge pool at the bottom.
