When deciding on a country to visit on a solo trip, a few factors should be taken into consideration. Personal safety is an important issue as well as good public transportation. Another consideration is choosing a destination that has a well-developed backpacking culture. This doesn’t necessarily mean places that young people flock to, but countries with diverse accommodation options (hostels, home accommodation, etc.), good trekking infrastructure, buses that pass through major points, and more.

Iceland is considered the safest country in Europe, making it ideal for a solo trip. In summer, when there is light throughout the day, you will also feel safe on a night hike.

Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is a very friendly city and in bars and restaurants, it is easy to get to know the locals and other travelers.

Outside the city, you will find amazing attractions, like volcanoes, glaciers, geysers and hot springs, lakes, and waterfalls. You can explore איק Icelandic nature by public transport (especially in the south of the island) or join day trips departing from Reykjavik.

When visiting Iceland you should see at least one or two waterfalls like Gulfus, Slylandspus, Skogfoss. Do not miss the Blue Lagoon, the Yukolsarlon Glacier Lagoon, the Skaptapel Ice Cave, and Thingvellir National Park.
