Chamonix is a town in the French Alps and is best known as a ski location throughout winter. It’s right by Mont Blanc, which is the highest peak in the Alps, and throughout winter the area is overrun with keen skiers and other snow sports enthusiasts. But this area has so much to offer during the summer months too, so here’s why you should plan a summer holiday there.

The Alps Views in Summer

This incredible mountain range is incredibly beautiful during summer. The bright sunshine on the green pastures and crystal-clear glacial lakes is spectacular, and bright alpine flowers add to the lively color scheme.

Hiking

This area is amazing for hiking, which is much more restricted in winter. Make the most of this side of this area in the summer, and explore the beautiful hills and mountains on foot. If you’re feeling brave, you could even incorporate some wild camping into this.

Wild Swimming

Chamonix and the surrounding Alps have loads of fantastic spots for a swim or a quick dip. In winter this is of course off-limits, so make sure to come in summer if you enjoy swimming in stunningly beautiful locations.
