You Can Now Get Free Wi-Fi While Flying With Delta

Flying with Delta Air Lines just became a lot more convenient and tempting. Delta just announced that it would start offering free Wi-Fi on its domestic and international flights, becoming the first major U.S. airline to make this move.

Delta already had Wi-Fi service on their planes, but the passengers had to pay $7 per hour while often experiencing slow service. However, Delta CEO Ed Bastian promises this is all in the past now.

“It’s going to be free, it’s going to be fast, and it’s going to be available for everyone,” Bastian said, announcing the move.

The free Wi-Fi program will launch in February, with 500 planes on the airline’s most popular routes being included. Delta intends to offer free Wi-Fi on all its flights by early 2024.

The move will probably land Delta some major advantage over the competition. The passengers will appreciate the ability to do some work, stream movies, or browse their favorite social media while flying. This should especially be the case on international flights.

Other major U.S. airlines like United Airlines and American Airlines offer Wi-Fi on their flights but charge up to $10 per hour while also offering monthly plans. However, several smaller airlines like JetBlue have had free Wi-Fi for years now.
