You Can Now Rent the World’s Last Blockbuster on AirBnB

Blockbuster was once a famous chain of video-rental stores with over 9,000 locations all over the United States. It employed over 80,000 people and served 65 million customers. But that was back in the 1990s; in 2020, Blockbuster’s final store is closing and it’s going to be turned into a temporary AirBnB rental.

The world’s last Blockbuster movie rental store is located in Bend, Oregon. In September 2020, it will become available for three individual, one-night reservations.

Anyone interested in this unique event can book the experience for the price of a single movie rental—$4. The guests will get all the movies they want so they can enjoy an authentic ‘90s-themed sleepover/movie night.

As for the Covid-19 regulations, the guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing measures in a public space. The rules are made in adherence with the latest local guidelines.

The sleepover dates are September 18th, 19th, and 20th and it’s likely that they will be booked quickly. Anyone who doesn’t get a chance to spend a night at the last Blockbuster but still wants to check it out can do so during the day for a limited time after the final guests check out.
