You Should Always Tell People Where You’re Traveling To

Listen, we get it. You’re someone who marches to the beat of their own drum. You’re someone who loves traveling and giving yourself to the weight of the wind, even if it blows you somewhere you didn’t expect. We’re not here to burst your spontaneous bubble. But here’s why if you’re this kind of person, you still need to make sure your loved ones know where you are.

At Every Moment

We’re not just talking about telling them where your initial destination is. It’s easy to tell your mother and father that you traveled “to Peru”. The only problem is, Peru is an entire country, and you can be literally anywhere. You should tell them exactly what city you’re in, and maybe even where you’re staying. Furthermore, you should let them know if you randomly decide to go traveling to another town or country for that matter.

Do It Out Of Respect

We know you probably think you’re invincible, and maybe you are—but anything can happen. Worst-case scenario: if something throws you off course, or you’re in a bad place that’s hard to reach, you’re going to need all the help you can get. Swallow your pride and let your loved ones know where you are. Even if you’re not on the greatest of terms right now, they’re probably worried sick—so do it out of respect for them.
