Lebanon has many charming cities, but most people start their journey from its capital Beirut. Its architecture is a perfect mix of old and new, and if you have a special place in your heart for modern design, here are three contemporary buildings you should check out in this city.

Beirut Terraces

Designed by the Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron, Beirut Terraces is one of the best examples of contemporary architecture in the Lebanese capital. It became one of the symbols of modern Beirut since opening its doors in 2017 and it’s instantly recognizable thanks to its different layers stacked on top of each other.

Sky Gate

Sky Gate features a total of 42 floors, making it the tallest residential building in Lebanon. Its convenient location in the heart of the upscale Achrafieh neighborhood is responsible for its amazing panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Sama Beirut

Sky Gate may be Lebanon’s tallest residential building, but the title of its tallest tower actually belongs to Sama Beirut. It stands tall at 640 ft and features 50 floors, and it went on to become one of the biggest stars of the city’s skyline after opening its doors in 2016.
