Barcelona is heaven on Earth for art lovers, and it’s home to more art museums than we can count. Some of them are dedicated to popular artists who spent their formative years in the Catalan capital, and that happens to be the case with these three single-artist museums.
Picasso Museum
Pablo Picasso’s paintings are scattered all across the world, but the largest collection of his work is still located in Barcelona. With over 4,000 paintings, drawings, and more, Picasso Museum offers an impressive display of the artist’s early works and explores his relationship with the city.
Fundacion Joan Miró
Joan Miró made a name for himself with his Surrealist paintings and sculptures and his legacy lives on thanks to this museum. Safely tucked away on the Montjuïc hill, Fundacion Joan Miró is home to an impressive collection of Miró’s works, many of which he donated himself.
Gaudí House Museum
Barcelona would probably look completely different if it wasn’t for Antoni Gaudí, who designed many of its most iconic landmarks. Park Güell is one of his best works, and it also happens to house a museum dedicated to Gaudí’s life, located inside his former home.
