3 Out of 800: Which Islands Should You Visit In Fiji

An island nation in the South Pacific Ocean, Fiji covers a territory of about 7,100 square miles, which include within them about 320 islands and 522 smaller islets. Most people choose two or three of these islands to visit when going to Fiji, here are our top three choices:

Viti Levu

Most first-time visitors land in Viti Levu, the largest island, where the main airport is located. Viti Levu is also home to Suva, Fiji’s capital and largest city. While the city gives an insight into Fijian society and culture, the island also features some tropical paradise delights like white-sand beaches, hot springs, and even rain forests.

Taveuni

If you’re only going to visit two Islands, make it Viti Levu and Taveuni. A significantly smaller island, Taveuni is known for its nature and authenticity. When visiting the rain forests, you can join the local kids as they slide down the natural rock slides, or visit Tavoro Waterfalls and swim in the natural pools.

Kadavu

This one is a real gem. Known primarily as a prime diving destination, Kadavu is the largest of a group of islands adjacent to the Great Astrolabe Reef, the world’s fourth-largest barrier reef. Make sure to visit the villages and rain forests to get the real Kadavu feel.
