House of Warship
Lotus Temple is a Baháʼí House of Worship and it’s the last of seven major Baháʼí temples built around the world. It’s a safe space where people of all religions can gather, reflect, and worship, with prayer services taking place several times a day.
Architectural Marvel
The main reason why so many people flock to this temple while visiting India is its stunning lotus-shaped building designed by Fariborz Sahba. The building consists of 27 free-standing marble-clad petals, forming nine sides in clusters of three. Since opening its doors in 1986, Lotus Temple won many architectural awards and it remains one of India’s biggest marvels of modern architecture.

Lotus Temple’s surroundings are as stunning as the building itself. Its lush green landscaped gardens are a sight to behold and each of the building’s petals is joined by a pool of water, providing a natural cooling system during the warm summer months.
