The way we pack changes with the seasons, and fall is bringing a new packing list along. If you’re trying to travel light and not overpack this season, here are three things you can probably do without.

Bulky Clothes

Cozy sweaters and cardigans are beloved fall essentials, but you shouldn’t go overboard when packing them. Instead of filling your suitcase with bulky sweaters, you can only wear once, opt for lighter clothes that you can easily layer. When it comes to coats and jackets, they’re too bulky and take up a lot of space, so stick to one that you’re going to wear throughout your trip.

Multiple Pairs of Shoes

You should approach shoes the same way you approach coats and jackets when it comes to fall trips. One versatile pair of boots or sneakers is quite enough, as long as they’re warm, comfortable, and easy to match with all of your outfits.

Too Many Accessories

Scarves, hats, and gloves are beloved fall staples that can level up your outfits and keep you warm and cozy, but how many do you actually need? They take up too much space, so stick to versatile pieces that you can mix and match. One pair of each is quite enough, and if you want to double down on any of these items it should be hats because they make the biggest difference.
