3 Things You Must Do in Greenland

Despite its neighbor, Iceland, being the more popular tourist attraction of the two, maybe people might be surprised by how much Greenland has to offer! Located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, Greenland has some of the most beautiful scenery. Since it’s not a super popular tourist destination (and because of the smaller local population), much of the land appears untouched by humans. For those hoping for an escape into the wilderness, Greenland is perfect. If you find your way there, you must make sure to add these three things to your itinerary.

Whale Watching

If you’re visiting Greenland between summer and fall, you have a really high chance of seeing whales. You could see beluga whales, bowhead whales, and even narwhals!

Ilulissst Ice-Fjord

If you want to see one of the only places where the Greenland ice cap reaches above the water, you have to go to Ilulissat Ice-fjord. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is truly a crazy, unique site that you can’t miss.

Uunartog Hot Springs

After being in such a cold climate, you’ll need to warm up. The Uunartog Hot Springs are the perfect place for exactly that! These naturally occurring hot pools are beautiful and relaxing, but the juxtaposition between the green area around the hot springs and the glaciers in the background is the real treasure.
