Being friends with someone doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have the time of your life traveling together. Picking the right travel buddy is a difficult task, and some people you have a great friendship with won’t live up to expectations. Here are three types of friends that you probably shouldn’t hit the road with.

Money Troubles

Traveling with friends you can rely on financially is extremely important if you’re doing it on a budget. If you don’t have the same budget in mind or your friend has shown a tendency to be irresponsible with money in the past, they probably won’t be such a good travel buddy.

Always Late

Friends who are always late and constantly canceling on the plans you make together are better left at home. You need someone reliable by your side during your travels, and you won’t be able to enjoy the experience if you’re always in the rush and under pressure because your friend is late.

Highly Dependent

If you’re a well-organized and experienced traveler, some people will only want to travel with you because they need to hitch their wagon to someone. If your friends aren’t self-sufficient you’ll have to do all the planning on your own and you’ll have trouble relaxing and fully enjoying your trip.
