New York City is one of the greatest places on earth and we are not denying it. If you head upstate, however, the lights of the city are replaced by the lights in the sky. Here are some awesome reasons to visit New York beyond the city before winter arrives.

Watkins Glen State Park

Watkins Glen State Park contains multiple waterfalls and stunning hiking routes. The highlight of the park has got to be Rainbow Falls Bridge, which makes for some incredible photographs.

Niagara Falls

If you head towards Buffalo, you can experience Niagara Falls from the U.S. side. It’s an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.

The Devil’s Path

The Devil’s Path is located high up in the mountains and it gets its name for a good reason. The 25-mile trail is enormously strenuous but the views from the peaks are quite something.

The Wild Walk

For great views without the tough hike, The Wild Walk is located in the Adirondack forest. The views from the treetops are particularly special this time of year as the leaves of the trees are brightly colored and golden orange.

Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park is often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the East.” If you aren’t one for hiking, you can experience the views via a hot air balloon.
