Orangutang
Orangutangs can be found in the Indonesian forest. You can catch them in the wild but also in rehabilitation centers like the Sepilok rehabilitation center in Borneo.
The Komodo Dragon
The Komodo Dragon can be found on a handful of islands in Indonesia. The big lizard is one of the most dangerous animals in the world but they are incredible to observe. It’s important to stick with a guide and strictly follow the safety rules.
Javan Rhino
The Javan rhino is on the edge of extinction. They are similar to the common rhino only they have one small horn rather than two.
Proboscis Monkeys
Bako National Park in Borneo boasts the rare and unusual proboscis monkey. You have a high chance of seeing them if you head to Bako.
Maleo
Maleo birds are unique creatures with colorful heads and black bodies. They can be spotted in Sulawesi, which boasts an array of magnificent wildlife.
Babirusa
The Babirusa is something like a cross between a pig and a deer. They can be found in Sulawesi and when you see them, you will understand why the Indonesian people named the creature after its pig (babi) and deer (rusa) features.
