Do you have a long-haul flight booked in the near future? While 6+ hour flights are necessary if you want to travel to see far-away destinations, they can be a bit imposing due to the uncomfortable nature of these flights.

Fortunately, there is one simple tip that will help you be more comfortable on these flights: pick the aisle seat! Here are three reasons why the aisle seat will be your best friend on your next long flight.

It’s Easier to Get Up

If you find yourself on a flight that will last for several hours, it’s inevitable that you’ll want to get up to use the restroom or to simply stretch your legs. Sitting in the aisle seat gives you free reign to get up as much as you want, which is something that you’ll definitely appreciate.

You Can Stretch Out

Tall people like me don’t enjoy flying because of the reduced dimensions of airline seats. If you sit in the aisle seat on long flights, you’ll at least have a little bit more space to stretch out your legs into the aisle. Just be careful not to get run over by the beverage cart!

You’re Less Likely to be Affected by Light

Long-haul flights often offer the opportunity to sleep due to flying overnight. Unfortunately, sometimes we fall asleep with the window shade open and wake up too early due to the light streaming into the window at daybreak. If you sit in the aisle seat, this won’t be a problem.
