When you travel, there are many different options for transportation, including planes, buses, trains, walking, biking, rollerblading, renting a car, and so on. But we’re here today to make a case for our favorite form of travel transportation: trains. So if you’re trying to choose between a bus and a train or a train and a plane for your next trip, allow us to make a case for the train.

Comfort

Trains are pretty much the most comfortable way to travel. Less crowded than buses and airplanes, the seats on trains tend to be pretty spacious, even allowing you to comfortably sleep.

Speed

Although they are slower than airplanes, trains are generally one of the fastest ways to travel. They are certainly faster than buses, and if you’re lucky enough to be in a location with a high-speed train, they can be faster than renting and driving a car on your own too.

Soaking in the Travel Feeling

Even with all of the conveniences aside, train travel is our favorite for one main reason: because it really allows you to soak in and enjoy that feeling of traveling. On trains, you can people-watch at station after station, making up stories in your head for who is greeting whom and why they are in said location. You can spend your time daydreaming about your next location or journaling about your previous one. And watching the countryside pass by through the windows, you can even get glimpses of the country you’re in that you wouldn’t otherwise.
