A Moon-Themed Hotel is Heading to Las Vegas!

Las Vegas can sometimes feel like a whole other planet. At this stage, we’re unable to visit another star in the solar system, but Vegas is offering a chance to head to the moon!

Plans have been announced to create a 5.5-million-square-foot hotel inspired by the moon. The brainchild behind the $5-billion idea is the Canadian company, Moon World Resorts Inc, which also has lunar-themed properties planned for the Middle East, China, and Spain over the next five years.

Space lovers will be fascinated by the Las Vegas hotel’s replica of the moon that is set to measure 735-feet tall and 650-feet wide. Although it will only be 1/75,000 the size of the moon, it will still be large enough to accommodate 4,000 guest rooms and suites.

Guests at Moon Resort Las Vegas will not be short on entertainment, either. Expect a planetarium, theater, arena, event center, spa, and casino. It will also feature thousands of feet worth of shops and restaurants, as well as a nightclub that will be positioned directly under a “spaceship”. But no moon-themed establishment would be complete without a lunar colony.

For the price of $500, visitors will be able to spend 90 minutes exploring a 10-acre space that mimics lunar colonies which are actively being planned by NASA and other space programs. Guests will use a moon buggy to pass over the craters, and will even need to ride a rollercoaster-like moon shuttle to reach the area.

Moon Resorts Las Vegas is scheduled to take about four years to build.
