The accommodation platform Airbnb has analyzed data for all of the vacations booked through its site for 2020. They have compared this with data from 2019 bookings and have come up with a subsequent list of the top-trending travel destinations this year. Here’s the top five.
Romania
Romania is home to some of Europe’s best architecture, including the infamous Bran Castle, more commonly known as Dracula’s Castle. Tourism has been on the rise since 2019.
Sunbury, Victoria, Australia
Sunbury is a gorgeous town that is appropriately named. In 2020, visitors from all over the world will be flocking to the Victorian-esque town to watch the International Cricket Council’s T20 World Cup.
Buriram, Thailand
Forget Bangkok, Buriram is the Thai location of 2020. It is more peaceful than the city and is filled to bursting with culture and beautiful natural landscapes.
Bilbao, Spain
In 2018, Bilbao won the European City of the Year. The combination of stunning architecture and quirky little restaurants makes the town a great place for a Mediterranean vacation.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.
At the top of the list is Milwaukee, which will be the hosting location for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. As a result, Airbnb has seen a 792% rise in bookings in 2020 compared with 2019.
