Most people try to go through airport security as quickly as possible and head to their gate—but not those trying to achieve “airport tray aesthetics”. This trend is all about taking photos of artfully arranged TSA bins as a way of showing off your travel accessories.

This rising trend has been around for a while, but it only started going viral in the past few months. Those taking part are using TSA bins to display designer purses, colorful sneakers, perfume, headphones, sunglasses, watches, and other items they’re traveling with as a way of capturing the spirit of their next destination through their clothes and accessories.

The trend became so popular and caused concern it could slow down security lines that the Transportation Security Administration had to intervene and share their thoughts.

“As long as the staged glamour photos are not causing delays or issues with other passengers in the checkpoint, there are no issues. Travelers should take care to secure their IDs, passports, and any light items on top that could be swept out of the bins when they go into the machines,” reads TSA’s official statement.

If you decide to give this trend a shot, plan how you’re going to stage your photos in advance, have all the items you need at hand, and only do it after you’ve gone through security without disturbing other passengers.
