Let’s be honestโ€”most of us look pretty haggard on a flight, especially when it’s longer than just a couple of hours long. Between wearing your most comfortable outfit to help you deal with the inherent discomfort of being in a tiny airplane seat, the dry air, and the hours spent awake at strange hours, you can’t really expect to get off a flight looking your best. But what if you have a reason to try to look good immediately after a flight? What do you do? Here are our best tips.

Moisturize During the Flight

The recycled air on flights is incredibly harsh and drying to your skin and hair, so applying some moisturizer to the skin and nourishing oil to the hair mid-flight can go a long way to making you look fresher.

Bring a Change of Clothes

Needing to look good after a flight is no reason to suffer from sitting in anything less comfortable than sweatpants during the flight. So bring a change of clothes in your carry-on that doesn’t wrinkle easily and do a quick change in the bathroom at the gate when you land.

And a Small Beauty Kit

While you’re in that bathroom, you can make a big difference by applying some light makeup and running a brush through your hair. And our biggest pro tip? Brushing your teeth and spritzing some perfume can make a huge difference in making you feel more put-together, even if they don’t affect how you look.

If you’re a frequent traveler, you’ve probably heard countless travel tips in your life, some more valuable than others. But if there is one travel tip that will truly change how you travel forever for the better, it’s this one. Are you ready for it? Here we go:

Don’t Make Plans

Okay, we know that sounds crazy. In fact, most travel tips tend to suggest the opposite. But let us make our case. We’re not saying that you shouldn’t make any plans at all. If there are certain things that you know you absolutely want to see or do at your destination, definitely plan ahead so you can make it happen. But we recommend having more unplanned time than planned time during your trip.

For example, on any given day, make a plan for one or two things at most, and leave the rest of the day free to wander, explore, and walk around. Why?

Because the best things that happen when you’re abroad are the ones you didn’t expect. Like taking a sandwich to a park and stumbling upon a carnival. Or paying a visit to the mall only to find out that said the mall has a zip line inside of it. Or walking to a club at night just to come across the liveliest, most fun bar in the city.

Are these experiences you want to have? Then there’s one way to do so. Don’t make plans. Seriously. Just try it once and you’ll see what we mean.

The Republic of Lithuania is one of the three Baltic states in the Baltic region of Europe located on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. It’s a totally underrated travel destination but it’s one we wouldn’t miss for anything. Here are just some of the reasons why it’s worth visiting.

The Sand Dunes

Sand dunes might not seem like much of a reason to get on a plane and fly to a foreign country, but that’s because you haven’t seen the Lithuanian sand dunes yet. They’re the tallest shifting ones in Europe and they’re so special that they’re even designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They can move up to 15 km per year and have covered entire villages in the pest.

The Forests

If you love nature, you’ll love Lithuania. It’s 40% covered by dense forests, home to Lithuania’s five national parks and unique flora and fauna like roe deer, wild boar, cute hedgehogs, mosses, wild berries, and even carnivorous plants!

The Cost

Even if it didn’t have that much to offer (which it does), there’s still no reason not to visit Lithuania as it’s just so dang cheap. Its capital, Vilnius, often ranks as one of the cheapest cities in Europe, with a pint of beer costing less than three euros.

If you’re an avid traveler who goes on trips around the world multiple times a year, you’re probably always on the hunt for new destinations to visit, especially if you’ve already checked off most of the usual bucket list locations. So to help you come up with ideas for where to go in 2022, here are three unique destinations that we’d recommend checking out.

Moravia, Czech Republic

While Prague is one of the more popular places to visit in Europe, the Czech Republic also has plenty of other cool areas you can visit. One of our favorites is Moravia, the easternmost province. It’s home to Podyjรญ National Park, which has some of the most beautiful unspoiled forests in the world.

Aeolian Islands, Italy

An archipelago of seven islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands are a destination that is bound to get famous sooner or later because they have so much to offer, and plenty of diversity even between the islands themselves.

Nova Scotia, Canada

One of the less popular provinces in Canada, Nova Scotia is a perfect destination for people who love water, as it is almost entirely surrounded by ocean. Enjoy seaside bicycle paths, quaint fishing villages, and some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the world.

Traveling in the warm months is easy and fun. You don’t have to pack too many clothes, you can spend lots of time outside, and you get to enjoy the cities you visit in beautiful weather. But is it still worth it to travel in winter, when the plane tickets are more affordable and you usually have more days off work? Our answer is a resounding yes, especially if you follow these tips.

Always Double-Check

Winter can cause flight delays and traffic issues, so always double-check your flight status and the weather forecast before going to the airport or getting into your car for a road trip. You don’t want to drive into a storm or show up at the airport only to find that your flight was canceled or significantly delayed.

Get Travel Insurance

You should always travel with insurance, but this is especially true during the winter when travel can be a little more dangerous or unpredictable.

Take the Weather Seriously and Pack Appropriately

If you’re from a warm place, you might underestimate how cold it will be at your travel destination. So err on the safe side and pack lots of warm clothes that will keep you snuggly even in the early morning on a cold day.

Adjust Your Plans

Indeed, winter days are shorter and colder, so you should plan to spend more time inside museums and coffee shops than outside hiking or swimming. Make your itinerary accordingly.

Located in central Asia, Kazakhstan, a former Soviet country, is bordered by China and Russia. It’s a diverse country with so much to offer travelers, and yet so many people can’t get past their association of it with the film Borat. But if you’re willing to open your mind, here are just some of the beautiful things you’ll find there.

It’s Not Touristy

With tourism only becoming more and more common, one consideration that is increasingly important when choosing where to travel is how packed the place will be. Kazakhstan is a bit of a hidden gem, meaning that you don’t have to avoid giant crowds everywhere you go. It’s a great place if you appreciate peace and quiet.

The Landscape

Kazakhstan is full of natural beauty, with much more to the landscape than just deserts. There are plenty of stunning lakes, canyons, mountains, and steppes to see, and it’s all unspoiled by the effects of overpopulation and over-tourism.

It’s an Adventure

If you get easily bored and like to fill your travels with lots of adventure, you should definitely consider visiting Kazakhstan. You can climb mountains, swim in lakes, go on road trips, ski in the mountains, and explore mosques and mausoleums.
