There is no denying that the United States has the best theme parks in the world. However, that doesn’t mean theme parks in Europe are not worth checking out. The continent has plenty to offer to theme park enthusiasts, including some that are worth taking the trip from anywhere in the world.

Travelers love when they find themselves in a city that they can explore almost entirely on foot. In these cities, the infrastructure is designed to benefit pedestrians, the majority of tourist attractions are close to each other, and all the amenities are readily available. This eliminates the need for driving or the use of public transportation and allows for a more authentic experience. Europe arguably has more walkable cities than any other part of the world. Here are the ones you should definitely consider visiting.

Seville, Spain

Many consider Seville the most walkable city in the whole of Europe. Thanks to its flat terrain and congestion of amazing sights in a small area, you can easily cover all the must-see spots without even taking a tram. This is especially the case with its Old Town, where you’ll enjoy getting lost in intertwining streets and most top tourist attractions are less than 20 minutes from each other.

Florence, Italy

Florence has the feel of an open-air museum. Everywhere you look, there is some important historical landmark or a work of art. On top of that, you are able to casually walk from one to another “item” in its massive collection. It helps that the city’s historic center, where most popular attractions are situated, is quite compact and can be walked through in less than an hour at a casual pace.

Bruges, Belgium

Exploring Bruges by foot should be mandatory for all visitors. It is a small city known for its narrow streets and stunning architecture that deserves to be properly appreciated. Even if you just pick out a direction and stick to it, you’ll discover beautiful medieval buildings, charming little parks, and intriguing landmarks on every step.

Breakfast is one of the best perks that hotels have in store, but do hostels offer this amenity, as well? Hostel breakfast comes with its own set of rules, and here are five things you should prepare yourself for if you’re staying at a hostel.

Not Always Available

Breakfast isn’t a regular part of the hostel offer, but some hostels have it in store. You should always make sure to check if this perk is available because some hostels are worth paying extra for free breakfast.

Not Always Free

Hostel breakfast isn’t always free, and it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth paying for this perk, or if you’d prefer preparing your own food.

Modest Offer

Don’t expect a lavish buffet when staying at a hostel. Even when breakfast is available, it will usually offer modest options, and you should check out the reviews to find out what it has in store.

Limited Timing

If you decide to pay extra for breakfast, keep in mind that it’s available for a limited time only. If you’re planning to sleep in or leave the hostel pretty early, you might miss it, so it’s not worth paying in advance.

Making Your Own

Even if free breakfast isn’t available, the good thing about hostels is that you can usually make your own. You’ll find a shared kitchen where guests can prepare their own meals in most hostels.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is full of historical places, important landmarks, and pop culture tourist attractions that will make your visit to the City of Brotherly Love an amazing experience. However, make sure to also set aside some time to explore some of Philly’s hidden gems that will allow you to get a unique perspective of the city.

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is an art space created by Philly-based artist Isaiah Zagar. The place is almost completely covered by Zagar’s murals and large-scale mosaics, which are created using mixed materials, including kitchen tiles, bike wheels, mirrors, and more. It also features indoor galleries that feature changing exhibitions.

Elfreth’s Alley

Despite being designated National Historic Landmark, Elfreth’s Alley is overlooked by many tourists visiting Philadelphia. You shouldn’t make that mistake as it will give you a great overview of how Americans lived in 18th and early 19th century. It features 32 houses that were built in the period between 1703 and 1836 and is considered the oldest residential streets in the United States.

Baldwin’s Book Barn

Any bookworm should place Baldwin’s Book Barn at the top of their “must-see” list. This bookstore is located in a five-story barn from the 19th century and features an astonishing collection of rare books, manuscripts, prints, drawings, and more. Even if you are not an avid reader, the place will charm you with its atmosphere and setting.

Other than being a breathtaking natural wonder, Niagara Falls is also swimming in cool history and impressive stats. Whether you’re a nature lover, a history buff, or just curious, it’s time to dive into some must-know tidbits about them.

Oldest State Park

The Park where Niagara Falls resides is the oldest state park in America—some title to live up to, huh?  It was established in 1885 under the name Niagara Reservation by environmental activists who bought it to protect it from being exploited for commercial purposes. Like.

But… Not That Old!

If we switch to geological talk for a minute, it turns out that Niagara Falls is actually a toddler. They were created as part of some glacial melt action taking place at the very end of the previous Ice Age, i.e., roughly 12k years ago. While that sounds like a lot, geologically speaking, it’s practically nothing.

8+ Million Visitors Per Year

Niagara Falls is truly astounding, so it may not come as a surprise that numerous visitors head up to see it every year. But more than 8 million people from different countries? Who would have guessed? Yes, this location really is that popular, folks, so get in line.

First Hydroelectric Power Plant

It turns out that Niagara Falls was the home of the first-ever hydroelectric power plant in the world! George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla were the ones who built it in 1885. Fast forward to today, and Niagara Falls can generate 4 million kilowatts of electricity.
