Be Careful About This One Thing When Hiking

As you gear up for another exciting hike, you’re probably also getting ready for something else: taking a bunch of awesome pictures. Because while hiking is fun, did you really do it if you didn’t take a handful of amazing pictures to share with everyone else? All jokes aside, there really is a pervasive need for our generation to take pictures of just about every beautiful thing we encounter. There’s nothing wrong with sharing a little bit of beauty with the world—but make sure you don’t make this mistake.

Modern-day smartphones have some truly amazing cameras, among countless other things—but that’s also what makes them so expensive. The only thing is, when we’re always taking our phones out to take pictures of beautiful views, we run the risk of dropping them. Unfortunately, when we’re trekking up large mountains and rocky terrains, dropping our phones can sometimes mean they’re gone for good.

You probably think that you’d never be that irresponsible. After all, you’re one of the careful ones, right? You might be, but even the most careful of people can make mistakes. Do yourself a favor and keep your phone in your pocket while hiking. If you must take it out, feel free to take a picture. But when you’re done, put it right back in your pocket because leaving it out leaves it extra vulnerable while on those long hikes.
