Colorado is heaven for winter sports enthusiasts. But most people will tell you that the state’s ski resorts are not that good as they are expensive. However, you shouldn’t let this get in the way of your skiing dreams. The truth is that there are still plenty of budget ski resorts in Colorado that provide a great experience. Check out some of them below.

Sunlight Mountain Resort

Located south of Glenwood Springs, Sunlight Mountain Resort doesn’t offer too much in amenities compared to high-profile ski resorts. However, it makes it up in experience and prices. You can expect to pay $72 for a day ticket as an adult while getting to enjoy some challenging slopes and some of the best tree skiing in the area. The place is particularly popular with locals and families.

Loveland Ski Area

Loveland Ski Area has several things that work in its favor. First of all, it is located just 50 miles from Denver. Then, it has two separate areas, with Loveland Basin being geared toward expert skiers and Loveland Valley being perfect for beginners. Finally, day tickets come as low as $80 for adults.

Arapahoe Basin

Arapahoe Basin will require you to make some compromises as it doesn’t have overnight logging, and its lifts are on the slow side, according to online reviews. However, tickets come at $89, snow quality is on par with the best ski resorts in the state, and it’s not too crowded. On the bonus side, the resort has an extended season until July.
