Antoni Gaudi is one of the most well-known architects in recent history. Known for creating modernist buildings that are defined by their incredibly ornate characteristics at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

Gaudi was a native of Barcelona, Spain, where he did most of his best-known work. Now, you can still travel to the city to see the best of his creations. Here are some places to discover his legacy when visiting Barcelona.

Sagrada Familia

The Sagrada Familia is one of the most beautiful and well-known buildings in the world. This still-unfinished cathedral was designed by Gaudi and is inspired by the nature created by God.

Parc Guell

A city park located in one of the highest points of the city, Parc Guell is full of eccentric and colorful architecture and statues designed by Gaudi. It also offers a fantastic view of Barcelona and the Mediterranean.

Casa Batllo

This ornately-redone building, which was renovated by Gaudi in 1904, is one of the most beautiful examples of Gaudi’s designs of living spaces. The colorful exterior was once controversial but is now considered a monument of the city.

Casa Mila

Casa Mila steps outside of many of the stereotypes about Gaudi’s work. Its seemingly-unfinished appearance is meant to invoke stone quarries and is a beautiful example of industrial design.
