Lisbon, Portugal, offers many thrilling experiences for travelers, and all of them need to be enjoyed properly. This is why wasting precious time on tourist traps isn’t something you want to do while visiting this amazing city. Here are some you should skip.

The Pink Street

Rua Nova do Carvalho aka The Pink Street is a former Red Light District of Lisbon. It is a popular spot for tourists who want to capture photos for their Instagram. However, there is not much to see here, and the pink pavement looks underwhelming in reality.

Santa Justa Lift

Santa Justa Lift is one of Lisbon’s most famous tourist attractions. And while you definitely want to see it, there is no need to pay the $6 ticket to ride it. There are plenty of other ways to get from Baixa Street to Carmo Square, including a much cheaper regular lift nearby.

Most of the Fado Clubs

Fado is a traditional Portuguese music genre that originated in Lisbon. Even if you are not into this type of music, checking out a fado show is part of the Lisbon experience. However, don’t just go to any club. Most clubs have overpriced menus and offer underwhelming shows, trying to make money off of clueless tourists. Make sure to check with the locals to find out the best place to enjoy a fado show.
