Don’t Miss Berlin’s East Side Gallery

The East Side Gallery is an authentic souvenir of the fall of the Berlin wall and the unification of East and West Germany.

The East Side Gallery’s painting project was an international project for art paintings on the remains of the Berlin Wall, in which 21 artists from 18 countries took part. The East Side Gallery art project began in 1990, just moments after the fall of the wall and the collapse of the regime.

The paintings on the remains of the wall in the East Side Gallery are colorful and express the happiness that all the residents felt.

The gallery is located on the inner wall of the Friedrichshain neighborhood, near the River Spree. The murals are mostly about politics and political change.

One of the most notable paintings is by Russian painter Dmitry Vorobel, which recreates the photograph of the kiss between former Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and German Democratic Republic leader Erich Honker.

The entrance to the East Side Gallery is free of charge and open at all hours of the day and night.
