FIFA World Football Museum is Zürich’s No. 1 Spot for Sports Fans

Museums dedicated to football—or “soccer,” if you are American—can be found all across the globe, and one of the very best is located in Zürich. This Swiss city is home to the FIFA World Football Museum, dedicated to the history of world football and operated by FIFA.

The FIFA World Football Museum opened its doors in 2016 after three years of planning. The main goal of this museum is to celebrate “the rich heritage of football and the game’s ability to connect and inspire the world,” and show “the impact football has had on society, and how it is a source of inspiration for fans across the globe.”

The museum is home to over 1,000 objects, including memorabilia from the past FIFA World Cups. The FIFA World Cup Trophy is the crowning jewel of the exhibition, but you can also enjoy many interactive and multimedia installations during your visit.

The FIFA World Football Museum is located in Zürich’s Enge district, in close proximity to Museum Rietberg. You can easily access it by public transportation or on foot, and a ticket will set you back by around $26. The museum is open daily between 10am-6pm, with the exception of Mondays.
