As a child, I always wondered what it would be like to stay the night at an aquarium. To sleep beneath the water among the fish always seemed like an idyllic fantasy.
Now, it turns out that you can do one better. In Dubai, underwater villas exist, which means you can sleep in the ocean and watch its many beautiful creatures as you drift off to sleep.
The villas are designed as part of the Heart of Europe resort, which is six man-made islands. The architectural designs are created to not just have a luxurious feel, but to feel as if they are completely still, even in bad weather. This means that even if you get sea sick, you can enjoy the wonderful experience of staying in one of these underwater villas.
“This is an original idea, to have a boat villa with a submerged floor, where you can experience the feeling of stepping down into the master bedroom, be in contact directly with the walls, and see the reef, the marine life all around you – you’re surrounded by it,” said CEO Josef Kleindienst at the launch of The Floating Seahorse villa.
