The town of Friend is a real-life ghost town situated in Wasco County, at the end of the Great Southern Railroad. When operations on the railroad ceased abruptly, the town was abandoned and what remains are the relics of a bygone era.

In Diamond, you can see ‘cattle king’ Pete French’s unique circular corral. The 130-year-old barn was quite rare in Oregon when it was built, and this one is extremely large, a fine example of engineering.
