Dzibilchaltún
One of the most significant Mayan archaeological sites in all of Yucatán is located just 10 miles north of Mérida. This archaeological site is home to many Mayan ruins, most notably the Temple of the Seven Dolls, and you can find a beautiful Cenote Xlacah on its premises.
Parque Zoológico Animaya
Are you looking for a kid-friendly spot that will make you feel like you’re diving into the ancient past? Parque Zoológico Animaya is just the thing you need! Once you step inside, it will mostly feel like a classic zoo, but its most magical feature is a gigantic observation tower, reminiscent of a Mayan stele.
Mayan World Museum of Mérida
You can find several great museums in Mérida and this one should be on the top of your list. It features an extensive collection of Mayan art, handicrafts, and history, and it’s truly a sight to behold—both inside and out.
