Kiwi

If somebody asks you who is the biggest exporter of kiwifruit, you would probably say New Zealand. Well, you are wrong. Kiwi is originally from China, who is still the largest exporter of this fruit. The Chinese gooseberry, which was its original name, was renamed by US exporters Turners & Growers in 1959.

Vanilla

Due to its isolation, Madagascar has very unique fauna and flora. Vanilla, the second most expensive spice in the world, can be found here in large quantities. Madagascar is the exporter of up to 85% of the world’s vanilla.

Argan Oil

Argan tree is endemic to Morocco and can be found pretty much everywhere. Due to its staggering price and health benefits, is commonly referred as liquid gold and is used in culinary and in cosmetic industry. It is so nutritious, that even the goats climb up trees to get them some!

Avocado

No doubt avocado on toast is something everybody knows but have you ever wondered, where avocado actually originates from? Well the answer us Mexico. Almost 50% of the world’s avocado come from this Latin American country.
