Forget Breakfast With Mickey, Have Breakfast With Giraffes at this Hotel in Kenya

Many of the most popular travel pages on social media have posted some variation of the same picture at one point or another. An influencer sits on a balcony in a beautiful dress, drinking tea as a giraffe reaches its neck over the wall to say “hello.” It looks like the experience of a lifetime, but where are these people able to sit in such close proximity to such a large animal? We did a little digging to find out more about this enchanted location.

Fittingly, the place is called Giraffe Manor, and it’s a boutique 5-star hotel located in Nairobi, Kenya. The house itself was built in the 1930s and the property became a hub for conservation work in the 1970s. It was purchased by a local couple in 2009 and has since taken off as a bucket list destination for travelers around the world.

Today, the manor functions as an all-inclusive, luxury hotel where 29 guests can relax in the spa, take a stroll through the garden, or enjoy a meal in the cafe. Sightseeing drives are available for those who wish to see more of the property, though those who prefer to stay inside won’t exactly be missing out.

The giraffes are known to poke their heads into the manor through the windows throughout the day!
